Live now: waits & closures

A set of Disney ride closures and operational changes for September 2026 at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World was reported on Saturday, August 29, 2026, according to reports. The list includes Disneyland attractions beginning refurbishments as early as September 8 and Walt Disney World changes tied to seasonal maintenance, resort construction, and attraction overhauls.

As of Monday, August 31, the reported schedule includes several Disneyland closures with short reopening windows, while others do not yet have confirmed return dates. The dates are subject to change, and additional refurbishments or operating changes could still be added.

At Disneyland Park, Indiana Jones Adventure is reportedly set to close for refurbishment starting September 8, with no reopening date listed. Mark Twain Riverboat is reported to close September 8 and reopen September 12, while Pirate Lair on Tom Sawyer Island is listed for a September 14 to September 17 closure.

Mad Tea Party is reportedly closing September 14 with no reopening date listed. Sailing Ship Columbia is reported to close September 21 and reopen September 25.

At Walt Disney World, Typhoon Lagoon is reportedly closing for seasonal maintenance on September 9, with Blizzard Beach remaining open. Disney’s Hollywood Studios is also in the middle of a larger area change: the former Animation Courtyard area is closed for its reimagining into The Walt Disney Studios, with new experiences reportedly reopening September 14, while the courtyard and Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! are currently open.

What we know

What’s not confirmed

Disney has not confirmed every reopening date in the reported list. No reopening date is listed for Indiana Jones Adventure, Mad Tea Party, or Frontierland Shootin’ Exposition at Disneyland Park, and Carousel of Progress at Magic Kingdom is only listed as reopening sometime in 2027.

Disney has also not confirmed a full end date for the Walt Disney World Railroad’s modified route. Reports say the shuttle operation will continue for the next few years while work continues on Piston Peak and Villains Land.

What it means for your trip

If Disneyland is on your September plan, treat Indiana Jones Adventure as the biggest practical loss on this list because it is a major, high-demand ride with no reported reopening date. Build your day around other headliners instead of assuming it will return mid-trip.

At Walt Disney World, the Typhoon Lagoon closure matters most if you were planning a water park day after September 9. Shift that day to Blizzard Beach, but check current operating hours before locking in transportation or dining timing.

For Magic Kingdom, the Walt Disney World Railroad change is more of a routing issue than a must-do loss. Do not count on it as an easy loop around the park; use it only if the Main Street-to-Fantasyland shuttle route actually helps your current location.

SupaPark can help on the park-day side by watching live ride status, so you are not relying on a stale closure list when an attraction changes status during the day.
