Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo
Docking Bay 7 is the sit-down-and-refuel anchor of Black Spire Outpost — a working hangar bay where Chef Strono “Cookie” Tuggs (the Maz Kanata’s Castle cook from The Force Awakens) sets up shop between planet-hopping trips. That backstory is the whole point: the dining room is dressed as a cargo loading dock, with a freighter parked just outside the windows and shipping containers stacked to the rafters. It’s quick service, but the theming punches well above the counter-service weight class, and the menu of “exotic” galactic dishes is genuinely more adventurous than the chicken-tenders-and-burgers norm a few steps away on Sunset Boulevard.
The food is the real surprise — this is one of the better quick-service kitchens at Hollywood Studios, leaning into smoke, spice, and bold sauces rather than fried defaults. The Smoked Kaadu Ribs and the Fried Endorian Tip-Yip (a sticky-glazed fried chicken) are the heavy hitters, and there’s a legitimately good plant-based option in the Felucian Garden Spread, so mixed-diet families don’t have to split up. Portions are hearty, plating is creative, and the in-universe naming keeps kids reading the menu instead of melting down.
Where it falls short is capacity and timing: there’s limited indoor seating, the line snakes badly at peak lunch, and on a hot afternoon the partially-covered outdoor patio can feel like a furnace. Treat it as a planned stop, not a spontaneous one, and it’s one of the most satisfying counter meals in the park.
This is the move for anyone who wants Galaxy’s Edge immersion without dropping Oga’s Cantina or table-service money — families, Star Wars fans, and anyone tired of generic park food. If you only care about a fast, cheap calorie stop, the nearby quick-service spots are easier; come to Docking Bay 7 when you want the food and the theming to both deliver. It rewards a little planning and punishes walking up at noon with no order placed.
