Jiko is Animal Kingdom Lodge’s grown-up, destination-dinner move: a polished dining room at Jambo House built around African-inspired flavors, a serious South African wine list, and a showpiece open cooking area that gives the restaurant its name. The room feels calmer and more adult than most resort restaurants, with warm lighting, deep colors, and enough Disney texture to feel transportive without turning dinner into a theme-park bit.

The food is at its best when it leans smoky, spiced, and rich: oak-grilled meats, bold sauces, flatbreads, and dishes that feel more layered than the standard “nice steak at Disney” playbook. It is expensive, and picky eaters may not get full value from the menu, but for adults, adventurous families, or anyone wanting a real resort-night dinner outside the parks, Jiko still has one of the strongest senses of place at Walt Disney World.
