Disney World Holiday Parties Require Separate Tickets

Published November 1, 2026

Disney requires separate tickets for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Disney Jollywood Nights at Walt Disney World, according to reports published Sunday, November 1, 2026. As of Sunday, November 1, regular Disney park admission still includes holiday decorations and some seasonal entertainment; the separate charges apply to those nighttime events.

The distinction matters: the reports describe two ticketed Disney parties, not a resort-wide charge to experience Christmas. Those events have special programming and different operating arrangements from an ordinary park day.

Universal Orlando’s holiday celebration is scheduled for November 14, 2026, through January 3, 2027, according to the reports. Its seasonal lineup is included with valid theme park admission or an eligible pass, subject to blockout dates and restrictions.

Universal’s offerings span multiple parks, so one park’s admission does not unlock the entire celebration. Its Holiday Tour and Grinch character breakfast also cost extra, and the Holiday Tour requires a separate park-to-park ticket valid for the same date.

What we know

The reports do not establish a newly introduced Disney surcharge or a change removing previously included entertainment from regular admission. A new Disney pricing policy has not been confirmed, and the reports do not specify Disney party prices or event dates.

What it means for your trip

Before buying Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party or Disney Jollywood Nights tickets, identify the party-specific entertainment you actually want: decorations alone do not require either purchase. If your child normally falls asleep by 8 p.m., favor holiday experiences you can enjoy during your regular park day over paying for an evening your family may leave early. For Universal, choose your must-do first—Grinchmas at Islands of Adventure or the Macy’s parade at Universal Studios Florida—then buy admission covering that park. Compare the full ticket cost for your chosen experiences rather than treating Universal’s entire resort-wide lineup as included with any single-park ticket.
