runDisney Releases Wine & Dine Race Road Closures
Published October 19, 2026
runDisney has released the road closure schedule for the 2026 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend at Walt Disney World, according to reports published Monday, October 19, 2026. Saturday’s 10K on October 24 closes eight roadways around EPCOT between 3:00 AM and 9:00 AM, and Sunday’s half marathon on October 25 closes or modifies 16 roadways from 3:00 AM until as late as 10:30 AM.
As of Monday, October 19, race weekend runs October 23 through 25 with three races, each carrying its own character-themed finisher medal. Friday’s 5K has no road closures listed.
Both the 10K and the half marathon start at 5:00 AM and run on Walt Disney World roadways, which Disney closes while the courses are active. Saturday’s closures stay near EPCOT and nearly all lift by 7:30 AM; Sunday’s course reaches much farther across property.
EPCOT’s hours shift too. The park opens at 10:00 AM on Friday and Sunday for race weekend, with no late opening on Saturday — so Sunday’s roads get time to clear before regular guests arrive.
Parking and drop-off also change. Drivers must park at EPCOT for every race, parking is free before 7:30 AM on race mornings, and event parking uses the Crush, Dory, HeiHei, Moana and Wall-E lots. Disney asks 10K and half marathon runners and spectators to reach the lot by 4:00 AM, and suggests noting your row since the lots look alike in the dark. Half marathon rideshare drop-off uses the EPCOT rideshare loop from 12:00 AM to 4:00 AM, moves to the Charter lot from 4:30 AM to 10:30 AM, then returns to the loop. Minnie Van service begins as early as 2:30 AM.
What we know
- Saturday, October 24 (10K): eight roadways closed around EPCOT, 3:00 AM to 9:00 AM, with most reopening by 7:30 AM.
- EPCOT Center Drive West — both stretches closed 4:15 AM to 7:30 AM Saturday, a half hour longer than last year’s 10K window.
- Sunday, October 25 (half marathon): 16 roadways closed or modified, with most lifting at 9:30 AM, including World Drive South, Buena Vista Drive East and Floridian Way South at the Bear Island Road exit ramp.
- Overpass Road West at Bonnet Creek and Woodpecker Lane by the Yellow Lot reopen last — 9:00 AM Saturday, 10:30 AM Sunday.
- Crush Lot Exit Bridge to EPCOT Center Drive East — traffic modified rather than closed, 3:30 AM to 10:00 AM Sunday.
What’s not confirmed
The closure schedule comes from reports, not an official Disney statement. The resort bus departure times for each race morning were not included in the coverage available, and the full list of all 16 Sunday roadways was not named.
What it means for your trip
- If you want an EPCOT morning this weekend, take Saturday, October 24 — it is the only race day without a 10:00 AM park opening.
- Driving yourself to Early Theme Park Entry on Sunday, October 25 is the move to drop: World Drive South and Buena Vista Drive East are closed until 9:30 AM. Use Disney resort buses, the monorail or the Skyliner instead.
- Complimentary race weekend buses to EPCOT serve Disney Resort hotels, Shades of Green, and the Swan, Dolphin and Swan Reserve — the simplest way to skip the closures entirely on both mornings.
- Running the 10K or half marathon and driving in? Park at EPCOT before 7:30 AM and it is free, but be in the lot by 4:00 AM as Disney asks.
- Any cross-property drive before 10:30 AM Sunday — an early breakfast reservation, a Magic Kingdom rope drop, an airport run — needs extra time built in.
