Slinky Dog Dash Downtime Reaches Third Day at Hollywood Studios

Live now: Slinky Dog Dash wait & status

Slinky Dog Dash at Disney’s Hollywood Studios reportedly remained closed on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, marking its third straight day of downtime. As of Wednesday, September 2, a ride vehicle was reportedly stopped on the track near the attraction’s second launch.

According to reports, the vehicle was sitting farther back in the launch than where a car would normally stop before being sent into the ride’s finale. An electrical panel was also open nearby, among the colorful block theming around the launch area.

The vehicle’s position could point to an E-stop, a safety function that halts a ride vehicle wherever it is on the track when a fault is detected. The open panel could point to electrical or control-system diagnostics, but Disney has not confirmed the cause.

Reports also said the area did not appear visibly active during a morning visit. Disney has not announced when Slinky Dog Dash will reopen.

What we know

What’s not confirmed

Disney has not confirmed the cause of the Slinky Dog Dash downtime, whether the stopped vehicle is tied to an electrical issue, or when the attraction may reopen.

The open panel and vehicle position may suggest ride diagnostics or a safety stop, but those details have not been officially explained by Disney.

What it means for your trip

Do not build your Hollywood Studios day around Slinky Dog Dash until its status changes. If you are holding a Lightning Lane Multi Pass selection for it, watch My Disney Experience closely for how Disney handles unavailable attraction windows.

Toy Story Land still has nearby options like Toy Story Mania and Alien Swirling Saucers, but Slinky Dog Dash being down can push more guests toward those rides and the rest of the park’s major headliners.

If you need to pivot, batch your time by land instead of crisscrossing the park: use Toy Story Land if waits are reasonable, then move cleanly to Galaxy’s Edge or Sunset Boulevard. SupaPark’s live ride status and alerts can help you catch the moment Slinky Dog Dash returns or when another Hollywood Studios ride drops to a better wait.
