10 Disney World Hotels Flagged for 2027 Disruption
Published September 2, 2026 · Updated October 13, 2026
Ten Walt Disney World resort hotels have confirmed construction projects, room refurbishments, or transportation interruptions that could affect guests staying there at some point in 2027, according to reports published Wednesday, September 2, 2026. That is roughly 30% of the more than 30 hotel properties on Disney World property — though the reporting stresses that none of the 10 hotels are closing.
As of Wednesday, September 2, 2026, the specifics vary widely by property and by date, and Disney has not published a single consolidated list of 2027 resort impacts.
The most clearly dated item is transportation. The Disney Skyliner is scheduled to close for refurbishment from January 24 through January 30, 2027, which removes gondola service for guests at Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort during that week.
Art of Animation is also scheduled for guest room and family suite updates during summer 2027. Reports say Disney has not confirmed exact start and end dates for that work, which could bring closed areas and daytime construction noise.
Two other properties are carrying work into the start of the year. Guest room refurbishment at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort is expected to continue through January 2027, with possible construction activity and blocked walkways requiring alternate routes. At Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Kidani Village’s room refurbishment was completed in May 2026, but work at Jambo House is expected to continue through January 2027.
What we know
- Disney Skyliner — scheduled refurbishment closure January 24–30, 2027, affecting Pop Century and Art of Animation
- Disney’s Art of Animation Resort — guest room and family suite updates scheduled for summer 2027; exact dates not confirmed
- Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort — guest room refurbishment expected to continue through January 2027
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge — Jambo House work expected to continue through January 2027; Kidani Village finished in May 2026
- Scope overall — 10 of Disney World’s 30-plus hotels flagged; impacts range from days to months, and no hotel is closing
What’s not confirmed
Disney has not announced start and end dates for the Art of Animation room work, and the reporting does not attach firm dates to every one of the 10 properties. The “alteration notice” framing is the reporting outlet’s own label, not a Disney designation, and Disney has not issued a blanket statement about 2027 resort impacts.
What it means for your trip
- If you booked Pop Century or Art of Animation specifically for Skyliner access to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, and your dates land inside January 24–30, 2027, shifting by a week is the cleanest fix — you are paying for an amenity that will not be running.
- If you can’t move, plan around buses for those days and build in extra travel time, especially for early morning arrivals when you want Early Theme Park Entry.
- Construction walls and a detour on the walk to the food court are not a reason to change hotels. Losing the pool, the transportation, or the theming you specifically paid for is.
- Timing matters more than the property: a November 2026 stay and a January 2027 stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge are effectively different trips.
- Check what your specific room category and building are before you rebook — value resorts especially refurbish in phases, so one section can be untouched while another is active.
