Live now: waits & closures

Walt Disney World has extended theme park operating hours at Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios for the week of November 1 through November 7, 2026, according to reports published Sunday, October 18. EPCOT’s hours are unchanged in the schedule reported for that week.

As of Sunday, October 18, the extensions cover selected dates at three of the four main theme parks. Animal Kingdom draws the week’s most notable changes, with both earlier openings and later closings on multiple dates.

Hollywood Studios gets an earlier opening on Saturday, November 7, while its previously published closing time stays as it was. Magic Kingdom’s schedule was also revised for the week.

The week falls in the resort’s Halloween-to-Christmas changeover, when holiday decorations go up and ticketed seasonal events including Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party return. The exact timing of the decoration swap varies by park and by display.

What we know

What’s not confirmed

Disney has not publicly confirmed why these specific hours changed. Attendance projections, resort occupancy and “Jersey Week” travel around the New Jersey Education Association convention are often cited as drivers of early-November demand, but the published calendars do not establish any of them as the cause. The specific new opening and closing times for each park and date were not included in the coverage available, and posted hours can still be revised before the dates arrive.
