Disney World Shipping Reportedly Switches to Bag Pricing

Published September 1, 2026

Walt Disney World reportedly changed its merchandise shipping process on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, across its resorts. As of Tuesday, September 1, the reported system uses bags, an online form, and third-party provider Ricoh instead of pricing shipments only by merchandise value.

According to reports, guests who want to send purchased merchandise home are now instructed to choose a provided bag, place items inside one bag without overfilling it, scan a QR code, and complete shipping, payment, and contact details online.

After the form is complete, guests secure the bag with a provided zip tie tag, return it to a participating location, show the online confirmation to a Cast Member, and hand over the tagged bag. Once Ricoh Merchandise Shipping Center processes the package, a confirmation email with tracking is expected to be sent.

The previous reported pricing structure was based on the value of the merchandise being shipped. Domestic rates listed in the report ranged from $19.99 for merchandise valued up to $100 to $99.99 for items above $500, while international shipping was listed between $30 and $150.

What we know

What’s not confirmed

Disney has not publicly confirmed the full resortwide list of participating locations, final domestic and international rate tables, item restrictions, or whether receipts are required under the new process.

The report also says a Reddit user noted that items can be placed in the bags without receipts, but Disney has not confirmed that as an official policy. Treat that as an on-the-ground report, not a guaranteed rule.

What it means for your trip

This matters most if you buy bulky or fragile merchandise and do not want to fit it into luggage. The old value-based system made expensive purchases noticeably pricier to ship; the reported bag-based process may change the math, especially if you can group several items into one properly filled bag.

The practical move is simple: before buying a large item, ask a Cast Member in the shop how the current bag sizes, rates, insurance, and item rules apply that day. If you are shopping at Disney Springs, Marketplace Co-Op may be the easiest place to ask because a dedicated shipping station is reportedly there.

Do not assume shipping is the cheapest choice for every purchase. If the item is small, sturdy, and easy to pack, luggage may still be simpler. If it is awkward, breakable, or a gift you do not want to carry through the parks, this new process is worth checking before you leave the store.
