Soarin’ Around the World is a massive, sweeping simulator that lifts you into the air to fly over global landmarks. Because it’s fully indoors and incredibly popular, the standby wait can easily spike to 120 minutes during the midday heat.

If you want to ride without wasting half your afternoon, the smart move is to skip the midday crowds entirely. Unless you secure a Lightning Lane Multi Pass, wait until the final 60 to 90 minutes before EPCOT closes.

The Best Time to Ride

The standby line for Soarin’ is predictable. It builds steadily throughout the morning as guests make their way into the park, peaking between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM when everyone wants to be inside the air-conditioned Land Pavilion.

If you want to ride via standby, you have two optimal windows:

The first hour of the day: If you rope drop EPCOT and knock out Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure or Frozen Ever After first, head straight to Soarin’ right after.

The “Row B1” Seating Hack

This is the most important thing to know about Soarin’: the massive projection screen curves around the riders. If you are seated on the far outer edges (Sections A or C), the images warp. The Eiffel Tower will look bent, and the Taj Mahal will lean.

To get the perfect, undistorted view, you want the middle section. To avoid seeing dangling feet from the riders above you, you want the top row.

The move: When you reach the Cast Member assigning rows, politely ask if you can wait for Section B, Row 1 (B1). It might add 5 to 10 minutes to your wait as you stand aside for the next flight, but it completely upgrades the experience.
