Hollywood Studios Nov 30–Dec 4: Best Time to Ride
Published October 29, 2026
Here’s the plan: visit Hollywood Studios any day from Nov 30 to Dec 3, and avoid Dec 4. Get there at opening, because that’s when waits are lowest. SupaPark’s wait data from the last 30 days shows the median posted wait across the park’s five busiest rides at 25 minutes at 8 AM and 53 minutes at 11 AM. That’s more than double in three hours. Your arrival time matters more this week than the crowd score does.
The forecast, as of Oct 29: Hollywood Studios averages 6.2/10 for Nov 30–Dec 4 and peaks at 7/10 on Dec 4. Only EPCOT is busier (7.2/10 average). Magic Kingdom (5.4/10) and Animal Kingdom (5.2/10) are lighter.
Which Day to Pick (and Which to Skip)
Dec 4 is the worst day of the week for a Studios visit. EPCOT also peaks that day at 8/10, so the two parks people often hop between are both at their busiest at the same time. If you can, put Animal Kingdom on Dec 4. It’s the lightest park of the week.
Skip Dec 4 and the rest of the window is fair game. Dec 4 is the forecast peak at 7/10. With a 6.2/10 average across the five days, the other four days likely sit around 6/10. You’ll still see real crowds, though, so plan for them.
The twist is Magic Kingdom. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party runs there on Dec 1, Dec 3 and Dec 4, and on those nights Magic Kingdom closes early to day guests. Day guests leaving Magic Kingdom early may hop to another park, and SupaPark’s forecast scores don’t separately measure that evening spillover, so treat it as a possibility rather than a certainty. Treat Dec 1 and Dec 3 evenings at the Studios as a bit less reliable than the forecast suggests. If you want a long Studios day that runs into the evening, Nov 30 or Dec 2 is the safer pick.
Why the Morning Matters So Much
SupaPark’s hourly pattern for Hollywood Studios over the last 30 days (Sep 30–Oct 28) is median posted wait across the five busiest rides:
- 8 AM: 25 min (the low point)
- 9 AM: 40 min
- 11 AM: 53 min (the high point)
- 2 PM: 51 min
- 5 PM: 48 min
- 8 PM: 33 min
This is the recent daily pattern, not a measurement of Nov 30–Dec 4. December crowds may push every number up. The shape is what you should plan around. Waits climb fast after opening, stay high from late morning through late afternoon, and ease off in the evening. Arriving at 10 AM puts you in line just as the park-wide median climbs from 40 minutes toward its 53-minute 11 AM peak, so you give up the 25-minute 8 AM window entirely.
If you’re staying on-site, Early Theme Park Entry gets you in 30 minutes before official opening. That’s the best free tool you have this week. The Swan and Dolphin and the other resorts within walking distance of the Studios make getting there early much easier, since you’re not waiting on a bus.
Ride-by-Ride: Where the Hours Pay Off
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets: 15 minutes at 8 AM vs. 55 minutes at 11 AM (median posted, last 30 days). That’s the biggest morning advantage in the park. Make it your first or second ride. Waiting until late morning costs you about 40 minutes for the same ride.
Slinky Dog Dash: 30 minutes at 9 PM vs. 70 minutes at 12 PM. Most people expect Slinky to be best at opening, but in this data its lowest wait was late at night. A 9 PM ride only works if the park is open that late on your date. Hollywood Studios also hosts the separately ticketed Jollywood Nights on select holiday-season evenings, and on those nights the park can close early to day guests. Check your date’s hours in My Disney Experience before you build your evening around Slinky. If it is, save Slinky for your last hour and spend your morning on rides that don’t get better at night.
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is a Lightning Lane Single Pass ride, sold on its own and not included in Multi Pass. If it’s a must-do for your group and you can’t be at the gate early, it’s one of the more reasonable Single Pass purchases. If you’ll be there at opening, think hard before paying.
How I’d Use Lightning Lane This Week
Multi Pass is bought per day. On-site guests can book selections starting 7 days before arrival, off-site guests 3 days before, with the window opening at 7:00 AM Eastern. After you use a selection or its window passes, you book the next one through the day.
For a 6-to-7/10 Studios day, here’s how I’d do it:
- Book your Slinky Dog Dash selection as soon as your window opens. Aim for a selection between 11 AM and 1 PM. Slinky’s measured worst hour was 12 PM at 70 minutes, so that’s where a Multi Pass saves the most time.
- Skip a Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster selection if you’re doing rope drop. You’d be paying to skip a 15-minute line.
- After that, keep booking rides for 11 AM–5 PM. That’s when the median wait stays near 50 minutes. Any Multi Pass selection outside that stretch saves you much less time.
If you’re doing Magic Kingdom on a party day, remember you’ll lose the evening there. Morning rides and Lightning Lane selections earlier in the day matter more on that visit.
The Two Windows Most Guests Miss
After rain. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is indoors and keeps running in storms, so its line swells. Slinky Dog Dash is outdoors and pauses for lightning. In the 20–45 minutes after the rain stops, before everyone else adjusts, be in Toy Story Land when Slinky reopens.
The last hour. At 8 PM the park-wide median was 33 minutes, compared with 53 at the late-morning peak. On Jollywood Nights evenings the park can close early to day guests, so check your date’s hours in My Disney Experience before you count on that last hour. Families with tired kids head out. If your group can keep going, the last hour usually does a lot of the work.
Let the Alerts Do the Watching
The midday stretch is where checking the app every few minutes ruins your day. SupaPark’s best-time forecaster shows when each ride’s line usually hits its low. A wait-drop watch can alert you when Slinky Dog Dash or Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster dips, and Lightning Lane refill alerts tell you when a sold-out selection becomes available again. You still book it yourself in My Disney Experience. Popular Studios table-service restaurants are hard to book in December, so a Drop Watch can alert you when a cancellation frees one up. The One Thing to Remember
Visit Hollywood Studios between Nov 30 and Dec 3, not Dec 4. Ride Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at opening, save Slinky Dog Dash for the evening if the park is open late, and use Lightning Lane only for the 11 AM–5 PM stretch.
Frequently Asked Questions
How crowded will Hollywood Studios be Nov 30–Dec 4, 2026?
As of Oct 29, SupaPark’s forecast puts Hollywood Studios at an average of 6.2/10 for the week, with a peak of 7/10 on Dec 4. That makes it the second-busiest park that week, behind EPCOT at 7.2/10.
What’s the worst day to visit Hollywood Studios that week?
Dec 4. It’s the forecast peak for Hollywood Studios (7/10) and also for EPCOT (8/10), so Animal Kingdom is a better choice that day.
When is the best time to ride Slinky Dog Dash?
In SupaPark’s last 30 days of data, Slinky Dog Dash’s median posted wait was 30 minutes at 9 PM vs. 70 minutes at 12 PM. Ride it late if the park is open that late, or use a Multi Pass selection to cover the midday peak.
Should I use Lightning Lane Multi Pass for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster?
Usually not if you arrive at opening. Its median posted wait was 15 minutes at 8 AM vs. 55 minutes at 11 AM, so ride it first and use your selections on rides that peak midday.
Do Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party nights affect Hollywood Studios?
Possibly. Magic Kingdom closes early to day guests on Dec 1, Dec 3 and Dec 4, and some of those guests may hop to other parks. SupaPark’s forecast doesn’t separately measure that spillover, so treat busier Studios evenings on those dates as a possibility, not a certainty.
