Scat Cat's Club Closes for Refurbishment on October 6

Published September 4, 2026

Disney is closing both the café and lounge at Scat Cat’s Club inside Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter for refurbishment on October 6. According to reports as of Friday, September 4, 2026, the two spaces will reopen on different timelines, with the café returning in December and the lounge remaining closed until January 2027.

During the closure, Mickey beignets and specialty coffees will move to Sassagoula Floatworks & Food Factory, the resort’s quick-service location. The seasonal Ghoulish Delight beignets will also be available there through November 1.

To cover for the lounge’s extended closure, a temporary bar will be set up near the café. It will operate daily from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. to serve evening drinks.

What we know

What’s not confirmed

Disney has not announced exact reopening dates beyond the targeted months, what changes are being made to either space, or what the specific menu will be at the temporary bar.

What it means for your trip

If you are staying at Port Orleans - French Quarter this fall or winter, you will still be able to get your beignets just a short walk away at the food court. You can also still grab an evening drink at the temporary bar, but you should expect a different atmosphere without the dedicated jazz lounge space. Since the lounge refurbishment takes a month longer than the café, expect the temporary bar to remain in place into early 2027.
