Meet Dashing Disney Pals as Circus Stars at Pete’s Silly Sideshow is a character meet-and-greet in the Storybook Circus area of Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland. Classic Disney pals appear in circus-themed costumes, and you get a quick visit, a photo and usually an autograph. It’s a meet-and-greet rather than a ride, so the whole thing is about the moment with the characters, not thrills.

Is it worth it?

Worth it for: families with young kids, character collectors and anyone who wants photos of the classic pals in outfits you won’t see at most other meets. The circus costumes are the draw. Standard Mickey-and-friends photos are easy to find across Walt Disney World, but these themed looks are less common.

Skip it if: your group doesn’t care about characters, or you’re short on time on a busy Magic Kingdom day. Every minute here comes out of your ride time.

The catch: there’s no Lightning Lane for this meet, so standby is the only way in. Character meets also move more slowly than rides. Each family gets its own interaction and photo, so the line can feel long even when it isn’t many people. Which characters appear can change, so check the current lineup on the day rather than promising your kids a specific pal.

Insider tips

• Have everything ready before it’s your turn. Character meets slow down when families dig through bags at the front. Have your autograph book open with the pen uncapped, and your phone or camera unlocked, before you reach the characters. You’ll get more actual time with them.
• Plan your photos. A Disney PhotoPass photographer is often at character meets. Hand over your phone for your own shots, then let the photographer take theirs. Doing both quickly gets you the most photos from one visit.
• Lean into the circus theme. Ask the characters about their circus act. Characters often play along with their costume, and that gives you much better candid moments than a stiff, posed photo.
• Pair it with the rest of Storybook Circus. The meet is in the same little area as Dumbo the Flying Elephant and The Barnstormer. Do them together so you’re not crossing Fantasyland twice.
• Timing: don’t use your first hour at Magic Kingdom on a character meet. That window is better spent on big headliners like Peter Pan’s Flight, or on riding Seven Dwarfs Mine Train standby so you don’t pay for a Single Pass. Character meets often have shorter lines later in the day, or while crowds are heading to a parade or fireworks.
• No Lightning Lane: you can’t skip this line with Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Single Pass. Save those for rides where standby gets long.
• Check before you walk over: character meet hours and lineups can change. Check live waits and today’s schedule in SupaPark (supapark.com) or My Disney Experience so you don’t walk to Storybook Circus for nothing.

Who can ride

• Height requirement: none. Everyone in your group can join, including babies and toddlers.
• Intensity: none. There’s no motion, no drops and no motion-sickness risk.
• Scary for young kids? The only thing to watch for is that some toddlers are nervous around large costumed characters, especially up close. If your little one is unsure, let them watch another family first. Don’t push it; the characters are used to shy kids and will usually go at the child’s pace.
