Animal Kingdom Nov 21–22: Best Time to Beat the Crowds
Published October 30, 2026
As of Oct 30, SupaPark forecasts Animal Kingdom at 3.0/10 for Nov 21–22 (peak 4/10 on Saturday), making it the lightest Walt Disney World park that weekend. In SupaPark’s wait data for Oct 1–29, Kilimanjaro Safaris ran a 55-minute median posted wait at 10 AM, and just 10 minutes at 3 PM. A 45-minute gap on Animal Kingdom’s signature ride should shape your whole plan for the weekend of Nov 21–22.
EPCOT is the busiest park that weekend at 6.5/10. There are no party nights on SupaPark’s calendar for those dates.
Here’s what that means for your plan. Animal Kingdom is the right park for this weekend, but you don’t need to fight for rope drop. SupaPark’s recent data (Oct 1–29) shows the median wait across Animal Kingdom’s five busiest rides falling from 40 min at 11 AM to 15 min at 5 PM. Plan your day around the late afternoon.
The weekend at a glance
SupaPark’s crowd forecast for Nov 21–22 (as of Oct 30):
- EPCOT: 6.5/10 average, peak 7/10 on Nov 21. This is the busiest park of the weekend.
- Hollywood Studios: 5.5/10 average, peak 6/10 on Nov 21.
- Magic Kingdom: 3.5/10 average, peak 4/10 on Nov 21.
- Animal Kingdom: 3.0/10 average, peak 4/10 on Nov 21. This is the lightest park.
Saturday is the busier of the two days at every park. If you can pick one day for Animal Kingdom, Sunday, Nov 22 should be a little calmer. If Saturday is your only option, a 4/10 is still a comfortable day.
One caution: these are forecasts made about three weeks out. Check them again the week of your trip, especially since this is the weekend right before Thanksgiving week.
How Animal Kingdom’s day usually goes
The hourly numbers below are the recent daily pattern SupaPark measured from Oct 1–29. They are not a measurement of Nov 21–22. Each number is the median posted wait across Animal Kingdom’s five busiest rides:
- 9 AM: 28 min
- 11 AM: 40 min (the day’s peak)
- 2 PM: 30 min
- 5 PM: 15 min
- 6 PM: 10 min (the day’s low)
Waits hit their high late in the morning and then drop steadily through the afternoon. By 5 PM, typical headliner waits are about a third of their late-morning level. The safari crowd thins out fastest. At its worst hour (10 AM) it hits a 55-minute median, and by 3 PM it’s down to 10 minutes.
The other parks don’t drop off like that. EPCOT’s median was still 60 minutes at 5 PM, and Magic Kingdom’s was 43 minutes. If you only have a few hours, Animal Kingdom’s late afternoon is the best value of the weekend.
The plan I’d use
Arrive mid-morning, ride the right things first, and save the safari for the afternoon.
- If you’re there at opening, ride Avatar Flight of Passage first, then Na’vi River Journey. SupaPark’s data shows Na’vi at a 15-minute median at 8 AM, rising to 45 minutes at 11 AM. It’s a slow, gentle boat ride, and the line builds quickly. Ride it early or wait until late in the day.
- Spend the 11 AM peak on things without long lines. This is a good time to explore the queues people usually rush through. At Expedition Everest, the long standby queue is worth walking slowly for its detail. At Kali River Rapids, look for the gecko cabinet in Mr. Panika’s office (his sign says he’s ‘out to temple’). It has housed real, live geckos in past years, so it’s worth a look with kids.
- Eat lunch around noon to 1 PM, when standby waits are near their highest anyway.
- Ride Kilimanjaro Safaris around 3 PM. That was its best hour in recent data. The trade-off is that animals are often more active in cooler morning hours, so you may see a few more of them nap through an afternoon ride. In November that’s usually less of an issue than in summer, and a 10-minute wait versus 55 is a big difference.
- Stay through 5–6 PM for repeat rides at 10–15 minute typical waits. Check park hours first, because Animal Kingdom usually closes earlier than the other parks.
Should you buy Lightning Lane Multi Pass?
For Animal Kingdom on a 3/10 day, probably not. Multi Pass is mainly useful for the late-morning peak, and you can avoid that peak by timing your day. If you’re arriving in the afternoon anyway, Multi Pass mostly pays for waits that have already gone down.
Avatar Flight of Passage is the exception. It’s Animal Kingdom’s Single Pass ride, sold separately. If Flight of Passage is a must and you won’t be there at opening, Single Pass is the purchase worth considering. Prices vary by date, so check My Disney Experience. If you will be there at opening, go to Flight of Passage first and skip the extra cost.
Multi Pass makes more sense at EPCOT or Hollywood Studios this weekend. SupaPark’s data shows Test Track at a 75-minute median at 4 PM and Slinky Dog Dash at 70 minutes at noon. That’s where paying to skip lines saves you real time.
Where to spend the other day
If you’re doing two parks this weekend, pair Animal Kingdom with Magic Kingdom (3.5/10). It’s the second-lightest park, and early morning there is very good: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin both showed 5-minute medians at 8 AM in SupaPark’s recent data. Big Thunder rose to 35 minutes by 1 PM, and Buzz to 39 minutes by 4 PM. At Magic Kingdom, getting there early is worth it.
Try to avoid EPCOT on Saturday. If you have to go, go early: Frozen Ever After went from 20 minutes at 8 AM to 65 at 1 PM.
Let the data watch the lines for you
Timing a 3 PM safari works best when you can see that the wait has actually dropped. SupaPark’s best-time forecaster shows when each ride is usually shortest. Wait-drop alerts tell you when a ride you’re watching becomes a short wait, or when it goes down. Live waits, the forecaster, and the crowd calendar are free at supapark.com. SupaPark is also a free app on iPhone and Android.
The one thing to remember
Animal Kingdom is the quietest park on Walt Disney World’s Nov 21–22 forecast, and it gets quieter as the day goes on. Skip the 10 AM safari, use the late-morning peak for queues and lunch, and plan your rides for the late afternoon.
Frequently Asked Questions
How crowded will Animal Kingdom be on Nov 21–22, 2026?
As of Oct 30, SupaPark forecasts Animal Kingdom at an average of 3.0/10, peaking at 4/10 on Saturday, Nov 21. That makes it the lightest Walt Disney World park that weekend.
What’s the best time to ride Kilimanjaro Safaris?
In SupaPark’s Oct 1–29 data, Kilimanjaro Safaris had its shortest median posted wait at 3 PM (10 minutes) and its longest at 10 AM (55 minutes). Animals can be a bit less active in the afternoon, but the time you save is significant.
Is Lightning Lane Multi Pass worth it at Animal Kingdom that weekend?
