Hollywood Studios Crowd Forecast: Dec 26–28, 2026

Published November 2, 2026

If Disney’s Hollywood Studios is on your plan between Christmas and New Year’s, stop hunting for the lighter day. There isn’t one. SupaPark’s crowd forecast, as of November 2, has Hollywood Studios at 10/10 on December 26, 10/10 on December 27 and 10/10 on December 28 — the top of the scale, three days running.

So the game changes from which day to which hours. That’s where the number that should actually reshape your plan lives: SupaPark’s wait data from the last 30 days (October 4–November 1) shows the median posted wait across the park’s five busiest rides peaking at 50 minutes at 11 AM and bottoming out at 24 minutes at 9 PM. Same park, same rides, less than half the wait. That’s the recent daily pattern, not a measurement of December 26–28 — holiday-week numbers run higher across the board — but the shape of the day is what repeats, and the shape is telling you the midday hours are a trap and the back end of the day is the gift.

The verdict for December 26–28

Three 10/10 days in a row means there is no “save Hollywood Studios for the calmer day” strategy available in this window. You get a hard park and you work it with timing.

What that looks like in practice: commit to either the very front of the day or the very back, and treat 11 AM to 3 PM as the hours you spend on shows, food, Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story Land browsing, or getting off your feet — not the hours you spend trying to muscle into a headliner standby line. Guests who try to ride hard through midday on a 10/10 day are the ones who post the 90-minute-wait photos.

One more useful detail from our calendar: there are no special ticketed party nights inside December 26–28. Nothing is pulling a chunk of the crowd into a separate event, and nothing is cutting your evening short for one, so an evening-weighted plan is clean to execute.

Day by day

Best and worst hours (recent pattern, not a December measurement)

This is SupaPark’s measured pattern from October 4–November 1 — the median posted wait across the five busiest rides, hour by hour. Expect the December numbers to sit higher; expect the curve to look the same.

The headliner splits are where it gets actionable. Slinky Dog Dash ran a median 30 minutes at 9 PM versus 70 minutes at noon. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets ran 15 minutes at 8 AM versus 54 minutes at noon. That’s not a small edge — that’s the difference between three rides and one.

So the plan writes itself: if you’re on property with Early Theme Park Entry, be at the tapstiles before it starts and spend that window on a coaster, not a show. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is at its most beatable in the first 30 minutes of the day, tends to soften again in the mid-afternoon lull, and loosens up late — while its worst stretch is the same late-morning block that wrecks everything else. And if your group is willing to split up, Hollywood Studios is the single best park for single rider lines: Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, Rise of the Resistance and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets all have one. On a 10/10 day, that’s the most underused tool in the park.

One caution worth saying out loud: Rise of the Resistance has real motion to it, and so does Smugglers Run. On a crowded day you’ll be tempted to stack them back to back because the windows lined up. Don’t do that to a motion-sensitive rider on day one of a four-day trip.

Which park to pick instead

If you’re choosing between parks for December 26–28, two things in the data matter.

First, Magic Kingdom is the lightest park of the window at a 9.7/10 average, and December 27 is the only day across all four parks that forecasts below a 10 — Magic Kingdom at 9/10. If you have one day you want to feel marginally less brutal, that’s it. Magic Kingdom’s recent hourly pattern also rewards early arrivals hard: a 23-minute median at 8 AM versus 45 minutes at 4 PM, with Jungle Cruise at 5 minutes at 8 AM versus 39 minutes at 3 PM, and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin at 5 minutes at 8 AM versus 39 minutes at 4 PM.

Second — and this is the part most holiday planners miss — a 10/10 crowd level doesn’t mean 10/10 waits. Animal Kingdom forecasts as the busiest park of the window at 10.0/10, yet its recent hourly medians are the lowest of any park: 25 minutes at 9 AM, 40 at 11 AM, 30 at 2 PM, and 15 minutes by 5 PM, bottoming at 10 minutes at 6 PM. Kilimanjaro Safaris ran 10 minutes at 3 PM against 53 minutes at 11 AM; Na’vi River Journey ran 10 minutes at 7 PM against 45 minutes at 11 AM. Animal Kingdom gets packed with people and still clears its queues, because it has the ride capacity and the park empties toward evening. EPCOT is the opposite trap: its waits build instead of fading, with recent medians of 45 minutes at 9 AM climbing to 60 minutes at 5 PM.

The smart holiday pairing, then: do Hollywood Studios early-and-late with a long midday break, and put Animal Kingdom on the day you want actual rides per hour.

The one thing to remember

Every day in this window is maxed out, so hours are the only lever you have. At Hollywood Studios, the late-evening hour has recently run at roughly half the midday wait — that’s where your rides are hiding. SupaPark’s best-time-to-ride forecaster tracks exactly when each ride bottoms out on your date rather than on an average day, and the free tier at supapark.com includes the crowd calendar, live waits and the forecaster, with alerts that ping you when a ride craters to a walk-on. On a 10/10 day, catching one of those drops is worth more than any plan you wrote in advance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which day is least crowded at Hollywood Studios on December 26–28, 2026?

None of them — SupaPark’s forecast as of November 2 has Hollywood Studios at 10/10 on all three days. The only sub-10 day anywhere in the window is Magic Kingdom on December 27, forecast at 9/10.

What’s the best time of day to ride Slinky Dog Dash?

Late. Over the last 30 days SupaPark measured a median posted wait of 30 minutes at 9 PM versus 70 minutes at noon — that’s the recent pattern, not a December reading, but the late-evening advantage is consistent.

Should I pick Animal Kingdom or Hollywood Studios on December 26?

Both forecast 10/10, but Animal Kingdom’s recent waits run far lower in actual minutes — a 15-minute median at 5 PM and 10 minutes at 6 PM, versus 45 minutes at 5 PM at Hollywood Studios. If you want rides per hour on the busiest day of the window, Animal Kingdom is the better use of the day.

Do I need a theme park reservation for these dates?

No — standard date-based tickets don’t require a park reservation. Annual Passholders are the exception and still make theme park reservations, except on Disney’s “Good to Go” days.
