Magic Kingdom Early Entry: What Rides Are Open
Published October 27, 2026
During Magic Kingdom’s Early Theme Park Entry, the 30 minutes before official opening, only two lands run rides: Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. As of October 2026, the Early Entry list usually includes Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Space Mountain, and often other Fantasyland and Tomorrowland rides. Disney adjusts the lineup, so confirm that morning’s list in My Disney Experience. The big exception is TRON Lightcycle / Run. It doesn’t run until official open, but you can get in its line during Early Entry. Adventureland, Frontierland and Liberty Square stay closed until the park opens to everyone.
SupaPark’s wait data (Sep 28–Oct 26) shows Jungle Cruise posting a 5-minute median at 8 AM vs. 40 minutes at noon, so if you can’t get in early, head to the lands that weren’t open.
The Early Entry lineup at Magic Kingdom
Early Entry is a perk for guests at Disney resort hotels and a handful of partner hotels in the Disney Springs area. It gives you 30 minutes in the park before everyone else arrives. At Magic Kingdom, that time is limited to the two lands at the back of the park:
- Fantasyland: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is the big one. Peter Pan’s Flight and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh often run too, when they’re on that day’s list.
- Tomorrowland: Space Mountain, and often Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin when it’s listed. Confirm both on the day’s Early Entry list in My Disney Experience.
Two cautions. First, the exact lineup can change, so check the day’s list in My Disney Experience before you go. Second, a ride that’s scheduled for Early Entry can still open late. If a ride hasn’t opened when Early Entry starts, SupaPark’s live alerts can tell you the moment it comes up, so you can ride your backup in the meantime. Pick a backup in the same land before you arrive so you’re not standing around deciding while everyone else moves.
The TRON catch: you can line up, but you can’t ride yet
TRON Lightcycle / Run doesn’t run during Early Entry. Resort guests can still walk into Tomorrowland and join the standby line before official open.
TRON uses a standby line plus Lightning Lane Single Pass, so standby is the free way to ride. Lining up during Early Entry puts you near the front of that line before off-site guests can even reach Tomorrowland.
The cost: you spend your Early Entry time standing in a line that isn’t moving, when you could be riding something else.
Pick one headliner: Mine Train or TRON
Magic Kingdom’s two Single Pass rides, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and TRON, are in different corners of the park. Trying to do both at open usually means you do both badly.
Go for Mine Train if:
- You have kids, or your group doesn’t want to stand still for 30 minutes.
- You’d like to ride rather than wait. Mine Train actually runs during Early Entry, which makes it the best free shot at it all day.
- You want to follow up with Peter Pan’s Flight, which is often on the Early Entry list when it’s running that morning.
Line up for TRON if:
- TRON is the ride your group would most regret missing.
- You’re fine paying for Mine Train separately with a Single Pass, or riding it in the last hour before close.
If you don’t pick TRON, a good alternative is to clear a Fantasyland ride or two first, then head to Tomorrowland around official open. Keep in mind that the first wave of guests also heads for Mine Train and Space Mountain, so those lands fill first.
What SupaPark’s data says about the first hour
SupaPark’s wait data for the last 30 days (Sep 28–Oct 26) shows why the first hour matters. Across Magic Kingdom’s five busiest rides, the median posted wait was lowest at 25 minutes at 8 AM, rose to 30 minutes at 9 AM, and peaked at 45 minutes at noon. It stayed around 40 to 43 minutes through the afternoon. This is the recent daily pattern, not a forecast for specific future dates.
The contrast is biggest on rides outside Early Entry. The 8 AM readings come from days when the park opened at or before 8 AM, not from the Early Entry window. Over the same 30 days, SupaPark measured:
- Jungle Cruise: 5 minutes at 8 AM vs. 40 minutes at noon
- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad: 5 minutes at 8 AM vs. 38 minutes at 1 PM
This is why going the opposite direction works, as explained in the next section.
No Early Entry? Go to the side of the park that just opened
Early Entry sends resort guests to Fantasyland and Tomorrowland, so by official open, the lines in those lands have already started building. Adventureland, Frontierland and Liberty Square open fresh to everyone at the same time.
If you’re off-site, or on-site and skipping the Mine Train rush, head left at the hub. Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Haunted Mansion and Big Thunder are all good targets in that first stretch while the crowd is busy in Fantasyland. Have a backup ready: if Jungle Cruise is down, Pirates is right next door.
Party nights make mornings more important (as of Oct 27, 2026)
As of Oct 27, 2026, SupaPark’s crowd forecast through Nov 8 has Magic Kingdom averaging 3.1/10. That’s one of the lighter parks right now, behind only Animal Kingdom at 2.1. The catch is the evening schedule. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party runs on Oct 27, Oct 29 and Oct 31, and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party runs on Nov 8. On those dates, the park closes early to day guests.
On a party date, you lose the late-evening dip, which is usually your second chance at Mine Train or Peter Pan. That makes Early Entry more valuable on those days. On non-party days, you have more room to ride in the morning and save a headliner for the last hour.
Small things that catch people out
- Eat before you arrive. Don’t count on in-park food during Early Entry, and you won’t want to stop anyway. Bring a pastry from your hotel or snacks to eat in line.
- Arrive early. If you get to the gates after the Early Entry crowd has already built up, you’ll still save some time, but you lose most of the advantage.
- Have a backup ride. Rides scheduled for Early Entry don’t always open on time.
You won’t spot every dip by refreshing a wait-times screen. SupaPark’s best-time-to-ride forecaster shows when rides like Peter Pan’s Flight usually bottom out, and live alerts can notify you when a ride gets close to a walk-on or goes down. Check it at supapark.com before you plan your morning.
The one thing to remember
Magic Kingdom Early Entry runs rides in Fantasyland and Tomorrowland only. Ride Mine Train while it’s running, or line up for TRON, but don’t try to do both. If you don’t have Early Entry, start in the lands that weren’t open early.
Frequently Asked Questions
What rides are open for Early Entry at Magic Kingdom?
Only rides in Fantasyland and Tomorrowland run during Early Entry. That usually includes Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Space Mountain, and often Peter Pan’s Flight, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin when they’re listed. Check the day’s lineup in My Disney Experience, since it can change.
Is TRON Lightcycle / Run open during Early Entry?
No. TRON starts running at official park open, but Early Entry guests can join its standby line before then.
Which lands are closed during Magic Kingdom Early Entry?
Adventureland, Frontierland and Liberty Square stay closed until official open. That’s why going straight to those lands at open is a strong move for guests without Early Entry.
Should I ride Seven Dwarfs Mine Train or line up for TRON during Early Entry?
Pick one. Mine Train is the better choice for most families because it actually runs during Early Entry. Line up for TRON only if it’s your group’s must-do, and plan to cover Mine Train with a Single Pass or a late-evening ride.
