Overview

Fantasmic! is the nighttime spectacular at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, staged in its own amphitheater around a lagoon. It follows Mickey Mouse through a dream-turned-villain showdown with water projections, music, fire, pyrotechnics, character boats/rafts, and Maleficent appearing as a 40-foot dragon. The show runs about 30 minutes when scheduled.

Is it worth it?

Yes, Fantasmic! is worth it if you want one big emotional Hollywood Studios finale and your group can handle waiting for a nighttime show. The standout is the scale: you get villains, classic Disney music, water screens, live effects, and character moments in one place instead of just a fireworks view from a walkway. The catch is the time cost. You are committing a chunk of your evening to entering, sitting, watching, and exiting with a crowd, so it is not the move if your priority is squeezing in one more low-wait ride before park close.

• The amphitheater curves around the lagoon, so do not panic if you are not dead center. This is one of the rare Disney World nighttime shows where the venue is built so most seats still give you a solid view.
