Lakeshore Lodge Reveals Lounge Before October Bookings

Published October 2, 2026 · Updated October 12, 2026

Disney reportedly shared new details on October 1 about Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge, its upcoming Bay Lake resort at Walt Disney World. According to reports, general public reservations open October 8, 2026, and the resort is scheduled to open July 1, 2027. As of Friday, October 2, the reported booking date, opening date, and newly described resort spaces are the key planning details.

Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is expected to join the Disney Resorts Collection with 967 rooms along Bay Lake. Reported accommodation types include studios, larger villas, and waterfront Lake Houses aimed at families or groups that want more space.

The resort’s room and design themes reportedly pull from several Disney stories, including Bambi, Pocahontas, Brother Bear, Fantasia, and Encanto. The property is also expected to include The Wetlands, an outdoor recreation area with pools, play spaces, and a lazy river.

The newest reported addition is Branch & Brush, a lounge located just beyond the main lobby. The space is described as offering handcrafted cocktails, Bay Lake views, and a seasonal design anchored by a color-changing chandelier representing all four seasons.

Reports also describe more lobby details, including floor-to-ceiling windows, Pocahontas-inspired music and storytelling elements, a fiberoptic river in the floor, a custom bronze centerpiece by Walt Disney Imagineering, and a blown-glass Colors of the Wind sculpture with hundreds of suspended glass leaves.

What we know

What’s not confirmed

Disney has not confirmed room pricing in the reported coverage. Specific booking rules, opening-day availability, restaurant menus, lounge hours, and exact transportation schedules were also not included in the reported details.

What it means for your trip

If Lakeshore Lodge is on your radar for 2027, October 8 is the date to watch, not July 1. New Disney resort inventory can move quickly when a property has Magic Kingdom-area transportation and larger family-style accommodations, so decide before the booking window opens whether you actually want the space and location enough to pay whatever pricing Disney sets.

The Lake Houses are the most interesting practical detail for bigger groups, but they will likely be the category to compare hardest against deluxe villas elsewhere at Walt Disney World once prices are known. If your main goal is fast Magic Kingdom access, boat transportation to Magic Kingdom is the detail that matters more than the lobby art.

Branch & Brush also makes the resort more appealing for adults who want a low-effort drink after the parks without traveling to another hotel. Just do not build a dining plan around it yet; the reported coverage does not include menus, hours, or whether reservations will be needed.
