Le Cellier Desserts: How to Save Room and End Right

Published July 7, 2026 · Updated September 30, 2026

Here’s the real takeaway before you even sit down at Le Cellier: the dessert is one of the best reasons to eat here, and most tables never make it to the finish line because they over-order everything before it. If you want that Chocolate Lava Cake to land, you have to protect your appetite from the first minute of the meal. The dessert isn’t the problem. The poutine, the cheddar soup, and a 12-oz steak standing between you and the dessert are the problem.

So treat this as a plan, not a hope. Le Cellier is a Signature steakhouse tucked in the Canada pavilion at EPCOT, and it’s one of the harder World Showcase reservations to land. If you’re spending that kind of money and using a prime dining slot, you may as well leave with the best bite of the meal instead of a doggy bag and regret.

The Chocolate Lava Cake is the play — so build toward it

The Chocolate Lava Cake is the credit-worthy finish here, the dessert people actually remember. But it’s rich, and Le Cellier hits you with heavy hitters all the way down the menu. The mistake is treating every course as a full solo order. Do that and you’re too full to care by dessert.

The fix is sharing the front half of the meal so the back half still fits. The cheese curds in the signature poutine are the star, and you don’t need a full order per person to get the experience — split one, and everyone still gets the gravy-and-curd payoff. Same logic on the Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup: it’s rich and satisfying, and a half-portion shared around the table scratches the itch without filling everyone to the brim. You can often ask for a half-portion, which also trims a few dollars off the check.

On the steak, the smart move for a group is ordering the larger 12-oz filet and splitting it rather than everyone getting their own smaller cut — you get a premium piece of meat without four separate entree prices, and you leave real room for dessert. Solo diners can go with the smaller filet and still have appetite to spare. Whatever you order, ask for it medium-rare; that’s where the cut shows off.

The through-line: every course you share is appetite you’re banking for the lava cake.

Canadian icewine is dessert, not a starter

If icewine is on the list, this is the most Canada-pavilion thing you can drink in the building — and it’s the easiest to use badly. Icewine is sweet, concentrated, and built to close a meal, not open one. Don’t order it up front unless you already know you love sweet wine; it’ll overwhelm the savory food and make a heavy steak dinner feel even heavier.

The smart version: save it for the end and treat it as its own little dessert moment. If your group is skipping the lava cake or wants one final Canada-specific taste, a shared pour of icewine can be more satisfying than everyone ordering a separate sweet drink after steak. One glass split around the table does the job — this is a splurge sipper, not a round.

And if you are ordering steak, don’t reflexively grab a big full-bodied red just because it’s a steakhouse and then double up with sweet wine at the end. Match the plate in front of you. EPCOT punishes over-ordering because you still have a park day waiting after the check arrives.

Don’t make dessert the picky eater’s whole plan

One trap worth naming: if you’ve got a picky eater at the table, do not build their meal around “they’ll just fill up on dessert.” A Signature dinner is too expensive to run that gamble, and it usually ends with a hungry kid and a wasted reservation. Give the picky eater a real safe order from the start — steak, bread, potatoes, simple plated food all work here — and let dessert be the reward it’s supposed to be, not the backup.

And be honest about the fit. If your picky eater only wants chicken tenders or plain pasta, or your group would rather graze World Showcase than sit down for a heavy meal, Le Cellier probably isn’t the reservation to burn. EPCOT is one of the best grazing parks at Walt Disney World, and some crews genuinely do better bouncing between small bites — the pretzel bread pudding hiding in the Germany pavilion, a cheese plate, snacks across the promenade — than committing to one high-stakes steakhouse dinner.

Getting the table in the first place

All of this assumes you actually have the reservation, which is the hard part. Advance Dining Reservations open 60 days before your arrival at 6:00 AM Eastern in My Disney Experience — set an alarm and be ready right at open, because Le Cellier goes fast. (Don’t confuse that 6:00 AM dining window with the 7:00 AM Lightning Lane booking time; they’re different systems on different clocks.)

Missed the 60-day window or it was already booked solid? That’s not the end of it. Cancellations free up constantly as other guests rework their plans, and the tables that pop back open are often gone in minutes. This is exactly where SupaPark earns its keep: turn on Drop Watch at supapark.com and it monitors Le Cellier for you, then pings you the instant a table frees up so you can grab it in My Disney Experience before anyone else notices. You keep your park day; the alert finds you.

The one thing to remember

Le Cellier’s dessert is worth the reservation — but only if you don’t eat yourself out of it. Share the poutine and the soup, split the bigger steak, save the icewine for the finish, and walk in with a real plan for any picky eaters. Protect your appetite on the way in, and the Chocolate Lava Cake at the end is the payoff the whole meal was building toward.
