Is it worth it?

Here’s the honest read: this is a filler ride, not a destination. It’s genuinely fun for young kids and families who want a light, spinny hit between the big Toy Story Land players (Slinky Dog Dash, Toy Story Mania!), and the theming is charming. But the ride itself is barely two minutes, the load process is slow, and posted waits routinely balloon out of proportion to what you actually get. The standout is the atmosphere and the kid-delight factor; the catch is the value. If you’re a thrill-seeker or on a tight touring clock, skip it in the midday crush and only ride when the line is short. For families with little ones, it’s a keeper.

• You don’t pick your saucer, and there’s no “best seat” here — it’s a single row that seats three, so the layout gives you nothing to optimize the way a coaster would. What does matter: everyone in your row shares one lap bar/seatbelt, so choose your seat-mates wisely. Pack a small adult with two kids, or two kids together, rather than mismatched sizes that leave someone loose or squished.
• Sit toward the outside of the row if you love the swing — the whipping motion throws you outward, so the rider on the outer edge feels the most g’s while the inner rider gets pressed toward the middle. Kids who want the biggest thrill should angle for the outside spot.
• Hunt the hidden detail while you wait: there’s a “Docking Control” mural in the queue area worth a look — the theming rewards guests who actually read the signage instead of staring at their phones. It’s a fun distraction for antsy kids in line.
• This is one of the best low-wait ride’s, not a rope-drop priority. It’s open during Early Theme Park Entry, but don’t burn that precious early window on it — spend those first minutes on Slinky Dog Dash or the Single Pass headliners instead, and circle back here later.
• Best time to ride: late morning right after you’ve knocked out the big stuff, or the last 30–60 minutes before closing when Toy Story Land thins out. Midday is the trap — the posted wait gets ugly for a 2-minute ride.
• Lightning Lane strategy: it’s a Lightning Lane Multi Pass attraction, but it’s a low priority pick. Save your Multi Pass selections for Slinky Dog Dash and other higher-value rides; only grab this one if the line is genuinely long and your kids insist. Often it’s not worth a slot at all.
• Rider Switch is available — if you’ve got a baby or a kid under the height limit, one adult waits with the little one while the rest ride, then you swap without re-queuing.

Who can ride

You’ll need to be at least 81 cm (about 32 inches) tall to ride, so many toddlers will just make it while the smallest ones will need to wait or use Rider Switch. The intensity is low (about a 2 out of 5) — no drops, no speed, just quick spinning swings. That said, the constant whipping and spinning can bother anyone prone to motion sickness, so if teacups make you queasy, this one may too. It’s not scary in any way — no darkness surprises or intensity — making it a comfortable pick for young kids who are tall enough.
