EPCOT Splits Early Entry Line at International Gateway
Published October 1, 2026
EPCOT has reportedly changed how it holds and releases Early Theme Park Entry guests at the International Gateway entrance, splitting the pre-opening line by where guests are headed. Instead of massing everyone on the bridge between the United Kingdom and France pavilions and releasing them all at once, guests were directed to line up on one side of the walkway or the other depending on their first attraction, according to a report published Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
As of Thursday, October 1, 2026, the change has been described only in that single report, based on one morning’s observation at the International Gateway. Disney has not announced it.
Under the setup described, guests heading to Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in the France pavilion were told to line up on the right side of the center line on the path. Everyone else — guests heading toward Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Soarin’, Test Track, Frozen Ever After, or other attractions — was directed to the left side.
The previous procedure, observed roughly a week earlier, put all Early Entry guests on the bridge together with no destination sorting. That version reportedly produced crowding and confusion at release; the sorted version was reported as noticeably smoother and more organized.
What we know
- EPCOT International Gateway Early Entry — guests reportedly sorted into two lines by destination rather than held together on the UK/France bridge
- Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure (France pavilion) — its own line, on the right of the center line in the walkway
- Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Soarin’, Test Track, Frozen Ever After and all other attractions — the left line
- Prior procedure (observed about a week earlier) — single undivided holding area on the bridge; reportedly caused crowding at release
- Source — a single outlet’s on-site observation, dated September 30, 2026; not a Disney announcement
What’s not confirmed
Disney has not confirmed the new procedure, said whether it is permanent or a test, or stated whether it applies on every operating day. Nothing has been announced about how the main front-entrance Early Entry release at EPCOT is handled, and the report does not indicate whether other pavilion-side destinations get their own lines on busier mornings.
What it means for your trip
- If you’re entering through the International Gateway for Early Theme Park Entry, know your first ride before you walk up — with a destination split in play, picking a line is now part of the arrival, and guessing wrong costs you position.
- Treat the procedure as fluid. It reportedly changed within a week, so follow the cast directions you get that morning rather than a plan you read in advance.
- The Remy line existing separately is the tell: it’s the France-side draw that doesn’t conflict with the walk toward Cosmic Rewind, Test Track, and Soarin’. If your group splits, that’s a clean split.
- Frozen Ever After stays a smart International Gateway Early Entry target — it’s close, and it’s one where arriving early does more for you than a Lightning Lane Multi Pass selection you could spend on a slower-loading headliner.
- SupaPark’s live wait times and ride status can tell you within minutes of opening whether your chosen target actually opened on time, so you can pivot before the wait builds.
