New Electrical Conduit Reported in Echo Lake Work

Crews working inside the drained Echo Lake at Disney’s Hollywood Studios have installed new electrical conduit across the lake bed, according to a report published Monday, September 28, 2026. The conduit reportedly runs from the Dockside Diner side of the lake over to Dinosaur Gertie’s Ice Cream of Extinction, tucked beneath the fake logs and tree stumps that were recently repainted.

As of Tuesday, September 29, 2026, the Echo Lake refurbishment is ongoing and Disney has not announced a completion date.

Along the conduit run, concrete boxes are reportedly spaced every couple of feet — the kind of junction and access points that typically accompany a permanent power run rather than a temporary one.

New power infrastructure in a lake basin can serve a lot of things: lighting, fountains, effects, or simply a modernized replacement for aging equipment. Nothing about the conduit itself confirms which.

• Don’t let this reshuffle your ride plan. Hollywood Studios still lives and dies on Lightning Lane timing: Slinky Dog Dash’s Multi Pass tends to go faster than the rest of the park’s, and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is Single Pass. Book those first, then worry about walkway routing.
