Rain Disrupts Mickey’s Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom

Walt Disney World reportedly changed Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Magic Kingdom after heavy rain disrupted the event. As of Friday, October 9, guests were reportedly sent a My Disney Experience apology notification saying their event ticket had been converted to a 1-day Walt Disney World ticket with Park Hopper option, valid for one year from the original event-ticket date.
According to reports, the first Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade was canceled, and several performances of Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular did not go on as planned. The party normally runs from 7 p.m. to midnight on select nights from August 7 through October 31, 2026.
Disney reportedly moved the second Boo-To-You parade earlier during a break in the rain, but the Headless Horseman was not part of that performance. Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks still took place at 10 p.m.
One guest also reportedly said Stitch did not appear at his scheduled meet-and-greet location during the party. Reports also described earlier 2026 Halloween parties being affected by heavy rain, including changes to Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular and modified parade choreography.

Reports say Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party returns Friday, October 9, with additional 2026 dates scheduled through October 31, including October 13, 15, 16, and 18. Reports also say remaining party dates are sold out.
NOAA reported on October 8 that there was a greater than 83% chance of a strong-to-very strong El Niño persisting through January to March 2027. Separately, reports said Hurricane Isaias had strengthened to Category 3 and was expected to affect the northern Gulf Coast; Orlando was outside the projected landfall area.

What it means for your trip
If you have a remaining Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party ticket, treat outdoor entertainment as weather-dependent, even when the party itself is still operating. The highest-risk pieces are parades, stage shows, character appearances, and outdoor timing, so do not save your only must-do party item for the final hour.
Build your night around the things Disney can run more flexibly: trick-or-treating, indoor attractions, indoor character locations when available, and food or merchandise stops. If the weather looks unstable, watch My Disney Experience closely for push notifications and entertainment changes, then adjust fast instead of waiting near a canceled show.
