According to reports, Walt Disney World’s refurbishment calendar lists Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom as returning Friday, December 18, 2026. The attraction is reportedly set to close November 2, making this about a six-and-a-half-week refurbishment as of Friday, October 9.

That timing would keep the Frontierland ride closed through Thanksgiving on November 26, but back in operation one week before Christmas Day if the calendar holds. Guests visiting December 18 or later can currently plan around the attraction being available, though refurbishment dates can change.

The closure is described as the attraction’s first extended refurbishment since Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opened in Frontierland on June 28, 2024. Multi-week downtime for a water flume ride typically points to maintenance, and this ride also has Audio-Animatronics and show effects that have reportedly had reliability issues since opening.

Tiana’s Bayou General, the attraction’s exit gift shop, is also reportedly closing alongside the ride. Critter Co-Op is expected to remain open.

What we know

What’s not confirmed

Disney has not separately announced the refurbishment details in a public statement cited here. The reopening date comes from reported refurbishment-calendar listings, and Disney refurbishment dates can shift.

Disney has also not confirmed exactly what work will be performed during the closure. The timing suggests routine maintenance may be part of it, but no specific repairs, show-effect updates, or operational changes have been announced.

What our data shows

What it means for your trip

If you are visiting Magic Kingdom from November 2 through December 17, do not build your Frontierland plan around Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Treat Big Thunder Mountain Railroad as the easier headliner anchor in that area, then fill in with nearby attractions instead of waiting around for a ride that is scheduled to be down.

If your trip starts December 18 or later, you can pencil Tiana’s Bayou Adventure back into the plan, but keep a backup in case the date moves. For Christmas-week visits, expect demand to be heavy if the ride returns on schedule; a freshly reopened major attraction tends to pull attention fast.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is a Lightning Lane Multi Pass attraction, so check availability when your booking window opens and be ready to adjust if it is not offered during the closure. Once the ride is running again, SupaPark can help watch live waits and Lightning Lane availability, then you grab any booking yourself in My Disney Experience.
