Rise Reportedly Added to Hollywood Studios Late Hours

Live now: waits & closures

Walt Disney World has reportedly added Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance to the Extended Evening Hours attraction lineup at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for select October 2026 nights. As of Friday, October 9, the reported dates for Hollywood Studios Extended Evening Hours are October 14 and October 28, 2026.

Extended Evening Hours is the after-hours benefit offered on select nights to guests staying at eligible Disney Deluxe Resorts and Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts. On participating nights, those guests can remain in the park for up to two additional hours after the park closes to regular day guests.

The change matters because Rise of the Resistance is one of Hollywood Studios’ highest-demand attractions and is normally handled separately from Lightning Lane Multi Pass as a Lightning Lane Single Pass ride. A late-night operating window gives eligible resort guests another possible shot at the ride after daytime crowds thin out, though attraction availability can still change.

Reports also note a separate October 8, 2026 permit filing tied to Rise of the Resistance through Disney’s Sourcing and Procurement department. The filing does not state what the work involves.

Hollywood Studios is also reportedly scheduled to close to regular day guests at 5 p.m. on October 20, 2026, because of a private company event.

What we know

What’s not confirmed

Disney has not confirmed that the Rise of the Resistance permit means a refurbishment, guest-facing change, or temporary closure. A permit by itself does not confirm downtime.

Disney has also not confirmed a link between the permit and the attraction’s reported addition to Extended Evening Hours. The available coverage did not include the full previous Extended Evening Hours attraction list.

What it means for your trip

If you are eligible for Extended Evening Hours on October 14 or October 28, Rise of the Resistance becomes a much stronger late-night target than it was before this reported change. Do not build your whole day around it without checking the current operating list, because after-hours attraction lineups can shift.

If Rise is a must-do and you are not eligible for Extended Evening Hours, your cleaner choices are still buying Lightning Lane Single Pass or trying standby at rope drop or near park close. Do not waste your Lightning Lane Multi Pass strategy trying to cover Rise; use Multi Pass for high-demand rides inside that system, especially Slinky Dog Dash.

If you are visiting Hollywood Studios on October 20, the reported 5 p.m. regular close is the bigger planning problem. Treat that as a compressed park day: prioritize your top rides early, avoid long sit-down meals, and watch live waits closely so you do not lose the afternoon to one bad line.
