Rise of the Resistance Reportedly Closes at Hollywood Studios
Published October 10, 2026 · Updated October 12, 2026
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance reportedly stopped operating on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, according to reports. As of Saturday, October 10, the attraction was shown as not operating in My Disney Experience after posting a 60-minute wait at 10:30 a.m. Eastern.
The closure hit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge during a busy Columbus Day weekend, when Hollywood Studios was already seeing heavy demand for its biggest rides. Rise of the Resistance is one of the park’s major headliners and one of Walt Disney World’s Lightning Lane Single Pass attractions, so losing it can quickly push guests toward the rest of the park.
According to reports, several other Hollywood Studios attractions were carrying waits of an hour or more after Rise of the Resistance went down. Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets and Slinky Dog Dash were both listed at 85 minutes, while Toy Story Mania! was listed at 65 minutes.
The bigger planning problem was availability. Reports said Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, Slinky Dog Dash, and Toy Story Mania! had no reservation slots left, leaving standby as the main option for guests who had not already locked in a return time.
What we know
- Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance (Disney’s Hollywood Studios) — reportedly not operating as of Saturday, October 10.
- My Disney Experience — reportedly showed the attraction as not operating.
- Queue Times — showed a 60-minute posted wait at 10:30 a.m. Eastern before the ride stopped operating, according to reports.
- Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets and Slinky Dog Dash — reportedly posted 85-minute waits.
- Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run — reportedly posted a 60-minute wait and still showed a 16:50 return slot.
What’s not confirmed
Disney has not confirmed why Rise of the Resistance stopped operating. Disney also has not confirmed whether the attraction will reopen later on Saturday, October 10.
A recently filed permit has reportedly raised questions about future work on the ride, but Disney has not announced a specific project tied to that filing.
What it means for your trip
If Rise of the Resistance is down during your Hollywood Studios day, do not automatically join the longest nearby line out of frustration. Check Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, and any remaining Lightning Lane availability first, because the best move may be outside Toy Story Land if Slinky Dog Dash and Toy Story Mania! are already drained.
If you bought Lightning Lane Single Pass for Rise of the Resistance, watch My Disney Experience for Disney’s official handling of the disruption. For the rest of the day, treat Hollywood Studios like a park with one fewer headliner: expect demand to spill into Slinky Dog Dash, Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, and Runaway Railway.
