Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run is the interactive flight-simulator ride inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. You board the Falcon in a six-person cockpit and work as pilots, gunners, or engineers on a bumpy smuggling mission that lasts about 5 minutes.

Is it worth it?

Worth it if you want the full Galaxy’s Edge fantasy: walking onto the Falcon, sitting in the cockpit, and actually pushing buttons during the mission. The standout is the role-play, especially if someone in your group gets pilot. The catch is that the experience depends heavily on your assigned role and crew; pilots get the most control, while engineers can feel more like button-pushers in the back. Skip it only if screen-based motion rides bother you badly, or if your priority is pure thrill over interactivity.

Insider tips

• Ask for pilot if that is the experience you want. The pilot seats are the prize here because they control the Falcon and make the ride feel much more active. Disney may not always be able to honor requests, and you may wait longer, but this is the one role worth politely asking for.
• Engineer is the least exciting role for many guests. You are still part of the cockpit, but the job is more reactive and farther from the main action, so it can feel like the weakest first ride if you have a big Star Wars fan in the group.
• Single rider can save time, but it usually means giving up control. Use it when you mainly want to ride quickly, not when you care about sitting with your group or getting a specific role.
• Do not make this your only rope-drop target unless the wait is already favorable. At Hollywood Studios, heavier hitters often deserve the earliest attention. Smugglers Run is a strong second-wave choice, especially if you are already in Galaxy’s Edge.
• Lightning Lane Multi Pass can make sense, but do not overpay emotionally for it. This is a Multi Pass attraction, not Single Pass. If your group wants Galaxy’s Edge time without a long standby line, it is a useful selection, but the role lottery means it is not always the highest-value pick in the park.
• Use Rider Switch if someone in your party does not meet the height requirement or wants to sit out. It is available here and can keep the rest of the group from choosing between riding and staying together.

Who can ride

Guests must be at least 97 cm tall. The thrill level is moderate, around 3/5: expect motion-simulator movement, sudden turns, screen action, and cockpit chaos rather than a coaster-style drop. Motion-sensitive guests should be cautious because the ride is screen-heavy and the movement can feel jerky, especially with aggressive pilots. Younger kids who meet the height requirement may love pressing buttons in the cockpit, but nervous riders can be overwhelmed by the loud, bumpy, high-pressure feel.
