Wilderness Lodge: What the Room and Pool Work Means

Published November 5, 2026

Guest rooms in the main hotel at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge are set for refurbishment from July through September 2027, according to reports published Thursday, November 5, 2026. As of Thursday, November 5, 2026, the same reports put Copper Creek Springs Pool, the main pool and its waterslide, in refurbishment from January 2028 through spring 2028.

Neither of those projects has started. The exterior refurbishment, underway since August 5, 2024, is the work that can affect a stay before those windows.

Reports say that exterior work continues through late 2026, matching an end date they say Disney posted in November 2025, and they note a July 2024 permit listing a December 2026 expiration. The notice still posted for guests warns of blocked sightlines in places and of construction noise or activity during the day.

The 2027 project, as reported, covers guest rooms in the hotel, not Copper Creek Villas & Cabins. Those Disney Vacation Club villas and cabins were refurbished from mid-May through September 2025.

During the reported pool refurbishment, guests still have Boulder Ridge Cove, the resort’s second pool.

What we know

  • Disney’s Wilderness Lodge guest rooms (main hotel) — refurbishment reported for July 2027 through September 2027.
  • Copper Creek Springs Pool, the main pool and its waterslide — refurbishment reported for January 2028 through spring 2028.
  • Exterior refurbishment — started August 5, 2024, reported to continue through late 2026, with daytime construction and some blocked sightlines.
  • Copper Creek Villas & Cabins — already refurbished mid-May through September 2025, and not part of the 2027 hotel-room work.
  • Boulder Ridge Cove — the second pool reports say remains available during the early 2028 main-pool refurbishment.

What’s not confirmed

Disney has not confirmed these dates in an official announcement. The coverage treats the 2027 room work as a lighter soft-goods refurbishment, but Disney has not said what changes inside the rooms or whether any rooms come offline. No exact finish day is given for the exterior — late 2026 in the reported schedule, a December 2026 permit expiration alongside it — and spring 2028 is not pinned to a month. The reports do not mention a closure at Boulder Ridge Cove.

What it means for your trip

Book a Copper Creek villa or cabin, not a main-hotel room, if your dates fall in July, August, or September 2027 and you want this resort outside the reported room project. Disney has not said those rooms will be unbookable.

If you are there from January 2028 through spring 2028, leave Copper Creek Springs Pool and the waterslide off the plan. Boulder Ridge Cove is the pool those reports still offer.

For a stay before the exterior work’s reported end in late 2026, treat a clear view as uncertain. The notice still warns of blocked sightlines in places and daytime construction noise or activity. As of Thursday, November 5, 2026, that phase has less than two months left if the late-2026 date holds.
