Reports say Walt Disney World has permanently closed the Single Rider line at Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Disney reportedly confirmed the closure on Friday, September 18. Sunday, September 20, 2026 was the last day guests could use it.

As of Monday, September 21, photos shared by guests show the attraction entrance with no Single Rider line. Only the regular standby queue and the Lightning Lane entrance remain.

Reports say the line was removed because of a new boarding process Disney has been testing in the standby queue for the past few months. Cast members now sort parties into odd-numbered and even-numbered groups as they wait. That makes it easier to fill every seat on a train without pulling solo riders from a separate line. According to the reports, the goal is faster loading and shorter waits for everyone.

The Single Rider line used to fill empty seats with solo guests and with groups willing to split up. On busy days it sometimes saved more than an hour compared with standby.
