Test Track is a genuine high-speed thrill and an absolute must-do at EPCOT. But its posted wait times—often hovering around 60 to 90 minutes or more by midday—fool plenty of planners into making a costly mistake: burning a premium Lightning Lane Multi Pass selection to skip the line.

Based on recurring wait patterns and queue logistics, spending one of your initial Multi Pass selections on Test Track is overkill. Here is why you should save your line-skipping power for other EPCOT headliners, and the smarter ways to get your speed fix.

Why Test Track Isn’t Worth a Multi Pass

When you buy Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you book your initial selections in advance (7 days out for resort guests, 3 days out for off-site). At EPCOT, your Multi Pass priorities should be the rides that genuinely sell out early and maintain massive standby waits all day—specifically, Frozen Ever After and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.

If you burn a top-tier slot on Test Track, you are spending a selection you could have used on a ride that actually needs it. (Remember: Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is a Single Pass, so it doesn’t factor into your Multi Pass strategy).

Test Track’s midday waits look intimidating, but they often soften later in the day. More importantly, the attraction offers alternative ways to skip the line that don’t cost you a Multi Pass pick.

Plenty of rides at Walt Disney World offer a single rider queue, but they aren’t all created equal. Test Track’s single rider line is consistently one of the most efficient in the resort. Because the ride vehicles seat six people in two rows of three, odd-numbered groups constantly leave empty seats that need filling. By hopping in this line, you can routinely slash a 90-minute standby wait down to 20 minutes or less.

The trade-off is obvious: you will be split from your party and loaded into whatever seat opens up. But for a thrill ride like this, skipping an hour-long wait is almost always worth it.
