EPCOT Crowds Dec 28–Jan 2, 2027: Forecast (New Year's)
Published November 5, 2026
Checking EPCOT crowds for Dec 28–Jan 2, 2027? SupaPark’s New Year’s forecast is a flat 10/10. January 1 is listed as both the busiest day and the lightest day, and both are 10/10, so the week does not hide a quieter date. Plan every EPCOT morning in this stretch as a top-of-scale park day, New Year’s Eve included.

The verdict for the window
There is no sneak-in day. The decision that still matters is what you do with the hours, and whether EPCOT should be the park at all.
As of November 5, SupaPark’s calendar shows no party nights from December 28 to January 2, so no ticketed event shortens the day. The 10/10 means a full day of holiday traffic.
Day by day
| Date | SupaPark EPCOT forecast |
|---|---|
| Mon, Dec 28 | 10/10 |
| Tue, Dec 29 | 10/10 |
| Wed, Dec 30 | 10/10 |
| Thu, Dec 31 | 10/10 |
| Fri, Jan 1 | 10/10 |
| Sat, Jan 2 | 10/10 |
New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day are no different from the days around them, so picking a date inside this window gets you nothing; picking the park is what matters. For the single-day plan, see EPCOT Crowd Forecast for Jan 1, 2027.

Best and worst hours
Label this clearly: it is the recent pattern, October 7–November 4, as of November 5. It is not a measurement of December 28–January 2. Assume a 10/10 holiday week runs hotter than these medians.
Across EPCOT’s five busiest rides, SupaPark’s median posted wait in that window was 30 minutes at 8 AM, 45 minutes at 9 AM, 50 minutes at 11 AM, 55 minutes at 2 PM, 60 minutes at 5 PM, and 45 minutes at 8 PM. The low is 30 minutes at 8 AM. The high is 60 minutes at 5 PM. Whether you can be inside at 8 AM depends on that day’s posted hours and Early Theme Park Entry (open to Disney resort hotel guests), so check park hours in My Disney Experience closer to the date. If you can’t get in early, plan around the 9 AM median of 45 minutes.
Two headliners show where that pain lands.
Frozen Ever After was 20 minutes at 8 AM and 63 minutes at 1 PM. If Frozen is a must, ride it in the earliest hour you can reach, before you start a lap of the lagoon.
Test Track was 30 minutes at 8 AM and 70 minutes at 4 PM. That 4 PM figure is the longest individual wait in this EPCOT set.
Stack the two. The recent pattern gives you one cheaper hour, 8 AM, when the five-ride median is 30 minutes, Frozen is at 20, and Test Track is at 30. Frozen’s bad hour is 1 PM. Test Track’s bad hour is 4 PM. The park-level high is 5 PM. Evening only brings the five-ride median back to 45 minutes at 8 PM. On a forecast this high, spend the soft hour on those two rides and stop treating the holiday afternoon as if it will behave like a random Tuesday in October.
Which park to pick instead
SupaPark’s forecast in this piece is EPCOT only. Nothing here says Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, or Hollywood Studios will be empty on New Year’s Day. What follows is the same 30-day method, same October 7–November 4 window, median posted wait across each park’s five busiest rides. If you can move one day off a 10/10 EPCOT, this is the comparison that should decide which way.
Animal Kingdom is the cleanest swap on this pattern. The recent median was 25 minutes at 9 AM, 40 minutes at 11 AM, 30 minutes at 2 PM, and 15 minutes at 5 PM. The high was 40 minutes at 11 AM. The low was 10 minutes at 6 PM. Set that next to EPCOT, which was still at 60 minutes at 5 PM — the hour Animal Kingdom had already fallen to 15. You are trading a park that peaks toward dinner for a park that, recently, was done peaking before lunch.
Two Animal Kingdom rides cut against the usual stampede, and the numbers are specific. Kilimanjaro Safaris was 50 minutes at 10 AM and 10 minutes at 3 PM. Na’vi River Journey was 45 minutes at 11 AM and 10 minutes at 7 PM. On this pattern, rushing the safari at mid-morning is the long wait. The short safari wait showed up at 3 PM, and the river ride shortened at 7 PM. That is the reverse of EPCOT, where the short side was 8 AM and the long side was 1 PM and 4 PM.
Magic Kingdom is a morning park on these numbers, not an afternoon escape. The recent median was 30 minutes at 9 AM, 40 at 11 AM, 40 at 2 PM, 43 at 5 PM, and 28 at 8 PM. The low was 25 minutes at 8 AM. The high was 45 minutes at 1 PM. It never reached EPCOT’s 60-minute 5 PM in this window, and it also never collapsed the way Animal Kingdom did at 6 PM. The individual rides are why an early Magic Kingdom day still wins for some groups. Jungle Cruise was 5 minutes at 8 AM and 40 minutes at noon. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad was 9 minutes at 8 AM and 35 minutes at 1 PM. Be in the park for that early hour and those two are a short start. Arrive around lunch and the easy side of both rides is already behind you.
Hollywood Studios does not bail you out at midday. The recent median was 40 minutes at 9 AM, 50 at 11 AM, 50 at 2 PM, 45 at 5 PM, and 33 at 8 PM. The high was 50 minutes at 11 AM. The low was 20 minutes at 9 PM. At 11 AM, Studios and EPCOT were the same 50. At 2 PM, EPCOT was 55 and Studios was 50. That is a sideways trade. The Studios gap opens late. Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway was 50 minutes at noon and 10 minutes at 9 PM. Slinky Dog Dash was 68 minutes at noon and 30 minutes at 9 PM. Stay until 9 and Studios pays the day back, especially on Runaway Railway. If the group is done at dinner, you walked into the crowded half of its recent pattern and skipped the hour that actually dropped.
SupaPark’s crowd calendar is where this 10/10 is tracked, and the best-time forecaster is the check on the morning itself — a holiday week scored this high will not reprint an October median minute for minute. If Test Track or Frozen Ever After drops anyway, a SupaPark wait-drop watch set at supapark.com alerts you (the free plan includes one watch at a time). You still book any Lightning Lane yourself in My Disney Experience.
Frequently Asked Questions
How crowded will EPCOT be from December 28 to January 2, 2027?
SupaPark forecasts all six days, December 28 through January 2, at 10/10, so no single date is quieter.
Is New Year’s Day quieter than New Year’s Eve at EPCOT?
No. December 31 and January 1 are both forecast at 10/10, and January 1 ties every other day in the window rather than coming in as a recovery day.
What time of day were Frozen Ever After and Test Track shortest?
In SupaPark’s recent pattern from October 7 to November 4, as of November 5 — not a measurement of this holiday week — Frozen Ever After was 20 minutes at 8 AM versus 63 minutes at 1 PM, and Test Track was 30 minutes at 8 AM versus 70 minutes at 4 PM.
Which park looks easier if EPCOT is a 10/10 that week?
On that same recent pattern, Animal Kingdom’s median across its five busiest rides fell to 15 minutes at 5 PM and 10 minutes at 6 PM, while EPCOT’s was 60 minutes at 5 PM. That is the recent daily shape, not a holiday forecast for Animal Kingdom.
Are there party nights at EPCOT between December 28 and January 2?
As of November 5, SupaPark’s calendar shows no party nights in that window, so there is no ticketed event on the books to shorten the day or pull crowd out of the park.
