EPCOT Crowds Dec 5–6, 2026: Which Day to Go

Published November 5, 2026

If you’re planning EPCOT the first weekend of December, the number that should change your plan isn’t the crowd level — it’s the clock. SupaPark’s wait data shows the median posted wait across EPCOT’s five busiest rides doubles across a day: 30 minutes at 8 AM, then 60 minutes at 5 PM. That’s measured over the last 30 days (Oct 7–Nov 4, as of Nov 5), so it’s EPCOT’s recent daily rhythm rather than a measurement of Dec 5–6 — but it’s the pattern you’ll be touring inside of, and it’s the opposite of what most people assume about an evening World Showcase park.

Forecast as of November 5, 2026. Live numbers here: EPCOT crowd calendar for December 2026.

The verdict for Dec 5–6

EPCOT is the busiest park in SupaPark’s crowd forecast for this window, averaging 7.5 out of 10 across the two days and peaking at 8 on Sunday, Dec 6. Animal Kingdom is the lightest at 4.5. Hollywood Studios averages 6.0, and Magic Kingdom averages 5.0.

So here’s the call: if your EPCOT day is flexible, do it Saturday, Dec 5. One forecast point sounds like a rounding error, but it’s the difference between EPCOT’s heaviest day of the weekend and its lighter one — and on a park that already peaks in the evening, you don’t want to stack a higher crowd level on top of that curve.

If EPCOT is locked to Sunday, treat it as a morning park and plan to be riding by the time the gates open, not strolling in at 10 AM.

Saturday, Dec 5: the day to use

SupaPark’s forecast for Dec 5: EPCOT 7, Hollywood Studios 6, Magic Kingdom 4, Animal Kingdom 4.

Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom at 4 are the standouts of the entire window — those are genuinely comfortable numbers for a December Saturday. That creates a real strategic choice. If your group has two days and one EPCOT must-do, the clean play is EPCOT on Saturday only if you’re committed to an early start; otherwise take the 4s and save EPCOT for a morning.

The sharper version: if you have exactly one EPCOT morning in you, spend it here, and get your two hardest attractions done before the park’s curve kicks in.

Sunday, Dec 6: EPCOT’s worst day of the weekend

SupaPark’s forecast for Dec 6: EPCOT 8, Magic Kingdom 6, Animal Kingdom 5, Hollywood Studios 6.

Sunday is where the weekend gets complicated, and not only at EPCOT. Magic Kingdom hosts Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party on Dec 6, which means the park closes early to day guests — so Magic Kingdom on Sunday is a half day whether you planned it that way or not. Its forecast also jumps from 4 to 6.

That’s why EPCOT lands at 8. Guests who get squeezed out of Magic Kingdom’s evening have to go somewhere, and EPCOT is the park most people pick for a December night. Combine that with EPCOT’s own late-day curve and Sunday evening is the single worst block in this window.

If you’re at EPCOT on Dec 6, commit to the morning and plan your evening somewhere else — or plan to be done.

Best and worst hours — the recent pattern

These are median posted waits SupaPark measured over the last 30 days (Oct 7–Nov 4). They describe each park’s typical shape, not Dec 5–6 specifically, but the shape is the useful part:

  • EPCOT: 45 min at 9 AM, 50 at 11 AM, 55 at 2 PM, 60 at 5 PM, 45 at 8 PM. Lowest 30 min at 8 AM; highest 60 min at 5 PM.
  • Hollywood Studios: 40 min at 9 AM, 50 at 11 AM, 50 at 2 PM, 45 at 5 PM, 33 at 8 PM. Lowest 20 min at 9 PM.
  • Magic Kingdom: 30 min at 9 AM, 40 at 11 AM, 40 at 2 PM, 43 at 5 PM, 28 at 8 PM. Lowest 25 min at 8 AM; highest 45 min at 1 PM.
  • Animal Kingdom: 25 min at 9 AM, 40 at 11 AM, 30 at 2 PM, 15 at 5 PM. Lowest 10 min at 6 PM.

Notice what EPCOT doesn’t do: deflate. Hollywood Studios falls to 33 minutes at 8 PM and 20 at 9 PM. Animal Kingdom drops to 15 at 5 PM and 10 at 6 PM. EPCOT’s worst hour is the evening. Touring it like a nighttime park is the most common mistake here.

Ride-level, the gap is brutal. Frozen Ever After ran a 20-minute median at 8 AM versus 63 minutes at 1 PM. Test Track was 30 minutes at 8 AM versus 70 at 4 PM. That’s a 40-minute swing on one ride based purely on when you walk up — bigger than anything a touring plan can win back later.

Two things to do with that. First, pick your two EPCOT headliners and ride them in the first hour; everything else in that park recovers better than those do. Second, remember Test Track has a single rider line — one of only a handful at Walt Disney World, alongside Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. If you’re a party of adults or you’re willing to split up, that’s a free fix for the 4 PM peak that most guests walk straight past.

Which park to pick instead

Animal Kingdom is the weekend’s bargain. It’s forecast at 4 on Dec 5 and 5 on Dec 6 — the lightest park both days — and its recent pattern rewards a late start rather than punishing it. Kilimanjaro Safaris posted a 10-minute median at 3 PM versus 50 minutes at 10 AM. Na’vi River Journey went from 45 minutes at 11 AM to 10 at 7 PM. If you’re not a morning family, this is the park built for you.

One piece of Animal Kingdom intel worth knowing before you plan around it: Expedition Everest’s single rider line ended on September 21, 2026, so Animal Kingdom no longer has one. Everest is still a high-capacity coaster that recovers well later in the day, which makes it a poor use of your best morning minutes unless you’re deliberately skipping the Pandora rush.

Magic Kingdom works on Saturday, not Sunday. At a forecast 4 on Dec 5 with the best opening-hour numbers in the data — Jungle Cruise at a 5-minute median at 8 AM, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at 9 minutes — Saturday morning there is the most efficient block of the weekend. Sunday it’s a 6 and the evening belongs to the party.

Hollywood Studios is the Sunday evening answer. It’s a 6 both days, so it doesn’t improve — but it’s the one park whose waits collapse at night. Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway ran a 10-minute median at 9 PM versus 50 at noon. Slinky Dog Dash was 30 minutes at 9 PM versus 68 at noon. Skipping midday Toy Story Land entirely and showing up late is the whole strategy.

The one thing to remember

EPCOT is the busiest park on both days and it gets worse as the day goes on, so make it a morning — ideally Saturday, Dec 5 — and give your evening to Hollywood Studios or your late start to Animal Kingdom. Forecast levels move as the date gets closer and waits bounce around on busy days; the crowd calendar and live waits are free at supapark.com, and you can set a wait-drop alert so you hear about it when Test Track or Frozen Ever After craters instead of guessing from one posted number.
