Disney Dining Reservation Cancellation Alerts: How Drop Watch Works

Disney dining reservations do open up after they are fully booked: in the last 30 days SupaPark saw 31,605 openings across 85 restaurants (about 1,054 a day). Even the hardest tables reopen — Cape May Cafe 65 times, Monsieur Paul 83 times, Chef Mickey's 86 times — so the reliable way to get one is an alert, then booking it fast in My Disney Experience.

"Fully booked" at a Walt Disney World restaurant is rarely final. Guests cancel, shorten trips and move times, and every change frees a table for someone else. The catch is that nobody announces it: the table simply appears in My Disney Experience until somebody books it. A cancellation alert closes that gap by checking for you and telling you when a time you want appears.

SupaPark has logged every opening it sees since it started watching Disney dining. Over the last 30 days that is 31,605 openings at 85 restaurants, on 30 of 30 days. The numbers below are those measurements, not estimates.

The hardest tables still open up

These are the reservations guests ask about most. Fewer openings means harder to get; every one of them reopened at least 65 times in 30 days. Each name links to its own measured page.

The busiest window was 3–6 PM, but no window is empty, and the pattern partly reflects when we check rather than only when guests cancel. The practical lesson is the same: you can't camp on one time of day, which is why an alert works better than refreshing.

How to actually get the table

  1. Book what you can at 60 days. Advance Dining Reservations open 60 days before your date at 6:00 AM Eastern in My Disney Experience. Take a backup time if your first choice is gone.
  2. Set a Drop Watch for the restaurant, date and party size you really want — a dining watch needs all three, so it only alerts you about tables you can actually use.
  3. Be ready to book. Stay signed in to My Disney Experience with your payment details saved, so you can act on an alert straight away; an opening stays open only until another guest books it.
  4. Keep watching after you book a backup. Cancellations keep freeing tables right up to the day itself; the table above shows how many days each restaurant had an opening.

What Drop Watch does (and doesn't)

Drop Watch checks availability for the restaurant, date and party size you choose and alerts you when a time opens. It never books, holds or pays for anything: you confirm the reservation yourself in My Disney Experience. On a free account alerts come by email (up to 10 a day); Silver adds push alerts and Gold adds unlimited push and SMS — current details on the pricing page. Other independent services offer reservation alerts too; compare them on price, how you are notified, and which restaurants they cover. Today's measured odds for every restaurant are on dining drop odds, and live openings stream on Live dining drops.

Frequently asked questions

Do Disney dining reservations open up after they are fully booked?

Disney dining reservations do open up after they are fully booked: in the last 30 days SupaPark saw 31,605 openings across 85 restaurants (about 1,054 a day). Even the hardest tables reopen — Cape May Cafe 65 times, Monsieur Paul 83 times, Chef Mickey's 86 times — so the reliable way to get one is an alert, then booking it fast in My Disney Experience.

How do Disney dining cancellation alerts work?

You tell the alert service the restaurant, date and party size you want. It checks availability over and over, and when a time opens up it notifies you; you then book it yourself in My Disney Experience. SupaPark’s version is called Drop Watch.

What time of day do Disney dining reservations open up?

Openings appear around the clock. In our last 30 days the busiest stretch was 3–6 PM Eastern (23% of openings). Part of that pattern reflects when guests change plans and part reflects when we were checking, so an alert beats guessing a time.

How do I get a Cape May Cafe reservation?

Book at your 60-day mark if you can. If it is full, watch for openings: SupaPark logged 65 at Cape May Cafe in the last 30 days, on 5 different days, most often between 4 AM–7 AM Eastern.

How do I get a Monsieur Paul reservation?

Book at your 60-day mark if you can. If it is full, watch for openings: SupaPark logged 83 at Monsieur Paul in the last 30 days, on 21 different days, most often between 10 PM–1 AM Eastern.

How do I get a Chef Mickey's reservation?

Book at your 60-day mark if you can. If it is full, watch for openings: SupaPark logged 86 at Chef Mickey's in the last 30 days, on 17 different days, most often between 3 PM–6 PM Eastern.

When do Disney World dining reservations open?

Advance Dining Reservations open 60 days before your date at 6:00 AM Eastern in My Disney Experience. Cancellations keep freeing tables right up to the day itself.

Are SupaPark dining alerts free?

Yes, with a free account: Drop Watch alerts arrive by email, up to 10 a day. Silver adds push alerts and Gold adds unlimited push and SMS; see the pricing page for current plans.

Methodology

Openings come from SupaPark's dining event log: dining_opening (future dates in the 60-day booking calendar) and dining_drop (same-day tables). An opening is a time that was unavailable becoming bookable. One opening that shows up for several party sizes at once is counted once. Counts reflect what our collectors observed; they are a floor, not a census of every table Disney released.
